End of Term Reports

These should be posted to the parent portal by the end of Friday 29 March.

Term Calendar and Key Dates

As you will be aware the School is not printing a hard-copy calendar so parents should refer to the online calendar which is kept regularly up to date.  Any amendments to Summer Term 2019 events made after today will be indicated clearly.  Parents may wish to consult the online calendar and the term dates page now to remind themselves of the beginnings and ends of terms and half-terms.

Start of Next Term

Boarders return on the evening of Tuesday 23 April. Term begins for all Wednesday 24 April, with registration and tutor time at 8.35am, and the normal on Wednesday Week A timetable starting period 1.  Boys should bring their kit for the sport they expect to do. The next Weekly Mailing will be sent out on Friday 26 April 2019.

L6 Futures Fair Monday 29 April 5-7pm

On the first Monday of next term, we are hosting our inaugural Futures Fair. All L6 boys should attend and parents are very welcome to join them. The Fair is being held in the Sixth Form Centre in Beech Court and runs from 5pm to 7pm.  We have 36 exhibitors, including many of the top universities (excluding Oxford and Cambridge), UCAS and a number of apprenticeship schemes. There will be presentations from UCAS and two universities during the course of the evening.  The Futures Fair offers boys and parents a fantastic opportunity to chat to the universities about degree course options and applications as well as student life and topics such as accommodation and finance. Many exhibitors represent universities from far afield (St Andrews, Durham, Exeter, Edinburgh, Dundee, Manchester, Newcastle) which can be difficult to visit. The apprenticeship schemes also offer interesting opportunities which are worth exploring.  Rather than home in or one or two exhibitors, we encourage all boys to talk to as many of the universities/apprenticeships as possible. It is useful to come armed with specific questions. This will enable boys to broaden their thinking before making an informed decision about their plans for next year.  We expect the evening to be busy, so if you live locally, you may wish to avoid the 5pm rush by arriving slightly later.
