The 2017 Abingdon Young Enterprise success story continues!

At the Area Final Competition last night, the four teams were up against both fourth year and lower sixth teams from four other local schools. To enter the competition, all teams need to submit a Company Report with details of their company structure, products, sales and marketing and most importantly their financial accounts. These are judged in advance. On the evening, the judges spend time with each team asking questions that can range from 'What is your Company ethos?' to detailed financial performance on profit margins, tax and return on investment.

The third element of the competition is the four minute presentation. A confident, polished delivery and coordinating visuals on the big screen are a real test of character and IT skills.

Abingdon's awards were as follows:

Best Financial Management – Mirage
Best Presentation – Access
Area Finalists – Access and Arome

Both Access and Arome will now go on to represent the school at the County Final on 4 May at the Said Business School in Oxford.

I was truly proud of all four teams and have my fingers crossed already…

V Griffiths, Centre Lead
