Following the opening of our Sports Centre in October 2008 and taking over the lease of Tilsley Park in September 2014 we are able to provide extensive, high quality sports facilities. New for 2016 is a multi use sports area, MUSA, on the main school campus.
The sports hall accommodates multi-sport activities including badminton, volleyball, basketball, indoor hockey and has space for four cricket lanes. There are two squash courts, two fitness suites, a climbing wall and a martial arts and fencing studio with five competition pistes. This studio has a sprung floor and has dual use as a performing arts studio. The rowing ergometer suite looks over the 25m, 8 lane indoor swimming pool and offers the latest training facilities specific to rowing, whilst the general fitness suite is used for boys looking to increase strength and stamina across all sports. There is also a physiotherapy suite.
The MUSA is an exciting new addition to the communal and recreational space on campus, occupying the site of the old grass tennis courts next to Waste Court Field and the Yang Science Centre. It has markings for four tennis courts with a robust, hardwearing surface, enabling year round use. The surface accommodates a range of sports as well as tennis including football, basketball and hockey.
Tilsey Park offers some of the best sports facilities in the area for rugby, athletics, hockey and football with all weather pitches including a new 4G surface and a new throws area.
