The full range of scholarships below are available for Sixth Form applicants. All students must also meet the necessary academic requirements.

Academic

All candidates who apply for a Sixth Form place will automatically be considered for scholarship entry based on their performance in the entrance assessments. There is no separate application process. Candidates who have performed exceptionally well may be invited back for a scholarship interview. From this, a scholarship offer may be made.

Art, Design & Technology and Drama

An assessment process for these takes place in February of Year 11. Candidates are expected to study the relevant subject at A Level. Occasionally exceptions may be made for talented drama students, where it is evident they will play an active role in extracurricular drama. For further information please contact [email protected].

Music

Scholarship auditions typically take place in the Michaelmas term of the Fifth Year (Year 11).

Successful candidates are likely to have been studying two musical instruments to a high level – at least the standard equivalent to grade 8 or diploma level of the ABRSM.

The department has a long record of successful preparation of candidates for organ and choral scholarships to university and for entry to music conservatoires to study at tertiary level. Recently these have included both organ and choral awards at St John’s College, Cambridge, at Balliol College and Magdalen College, Oxford, and for composition at the Royal Academy of Music.
