The top 16 pairs from both schools (64 players in total) battled it out today at the second 'Radlingdon' Open Tennis Tournament hosted generously by Radley (ice creams and all!).

One of the lovely characteristics of this relatively new tournament is that we had players from across the years competing. Occasionally, there were all-Abingdon matches (e.g. Thomas Savidge (6) and Joe Roads (6) against Aron Lavis (5) and Francesco Cipriani (5)) and all-Radley matches.

There were some excellent contests, such as Will Taylor and Felix Breach very nearly beating an U6th Radley pairing in a thoroughly entertaining match that went to a tiebreak. Will Pearson and Lafite Lo got to the semi final of the main draw. Sam Christie and Max Hall got to the final. However, it was a very hot day and Will Pearson bravely stepped in to play in the final. Unfortunately, Radley proved to be too strong on this occasion.

Huge congratulations must go to Charlie Atkinson and Huba Varady, who won the plate competition with ease (6-1 in the final!).
