50 mathematicians from across the county came together last week to compete in the international Naboj Maths Competition. As previous winners of the competition, Abingdon were keen to host and invited students from local schools. 10 teams of 5, with representation from 7 schools, gathered in the CMR and there was an excited buzz as they waited to start. The competition is a live event involving students from across the globe. Students took part in increasingly challenging maths questions and watched as their scores were recorded on the live leaderboard. After an intense 2 hours of non stop maths, teams were excited to see who had won. It was a close finish for the teams and in the end Fitzharrys School were proud winners, taking home a Naboj tshirt and book. Well done to all involved including the Maths Department, Lucy Coull, and OAs Ashwin Tennant and Max Williams for their support with the event.
