Music – Carol Service

The Parents' Carol Service on Monday 8 December at 7:30pm in St. Helen's Church will be a service based on the Nine Lessons and Carols format and will feature representatives from a cross-section of the school community. This service has been introduced for the first time this year, to allow parents and boys to attend a Carol Service together. All parents and boys are welcome, but as space is limited and interest is expected to be high, tickets will be allocated on a first come, first served basis, so please book early.

Joint Abingdon & St Helen's Senior Drama Production – Les Misérables: Ticket Sale

On Monday 24 November from 5pm, tickets will go on general sale for this year’s joint Abingdon and St Helen’s senior drama production. Winner of over 100 international awards and seen by over 65 million people worldwide, Les Misérables is an epic and uplifting story about the survival of the human spirit. This February, Abingdon and St Helen’s proudly present the Les Misérables School Edition, which features one of the most memorable scores of all time and some of the most memorable characters to ever grace the Amey Theatre stage.

In 19th century France, Jean Valjean is released from years of unjust imprisonment, but finds nothing in store for him but mistrust and mistreatment. He breaks his parole in hopes of starting a new life, initiating a life-long struggle for redemption as he is relentlessly pursued by police inspector Javert, who refuses to believe Valjean can change his ways. Finally, during the Paris student uprising of 1832, Javert must confront his ideals after Valjean spares his life and saves that of the student revolutionary who has captured the heart of Valjean's adopted daughter.

Epic, grand and uplifting, Les Misérables School Edition packs an emotional wallop that has thrilled audiences all over the world. We are tremendously excited to present our dynamic version of this much-loved musical in the Lent Term. Performances take place on Wednesday 4, Thursday 5 and Friday 6 February 2015 in the Amey Theatre at 7pm.

Tickets will be available online. Please note that tickets have already been on sale to cast members, and that there is already high demand – act quickly to avoid disappointment! Any problems booking tickets, please contact [email protected].

We hope as many of you as possible will come to see the show.
