Summer Explore 2016 – a Unique Opportunity for Students in Years 10-12

Please find attached details of Summer Explore, a conference for young men and women aged between 14-17 which will be run at St Helen and St Katharine this summer from 19-22 July. The conference will offer young people the opportunity to research and develop ideas in the subject area of their choice, and debate these ideas with their peers. The tutors will be drawn from a range of backgrounds, each experts in their field. The emphasis, however, will be on students learning for themselves, and working independently, and with their peers, to explore the over-arching theme of freedom and how it seen and developed in each subject area. There will be opportunities for debate between the different groups, and some lectures from leading experts, such as Dr Janina Ramirez, the historian and television presenter.

The conference will provide those who attend with an excellent basis to move forward in their preparation for university entrance not least as they will leave with a portfolio of work from the four days.

We hope that this will be of interest to your students, and would be grateful if you could promote it in your school. For further details please see www.summerexplore.org.uk, or email [email protected]
