Congratulations to fifth year Ben Broadbent who completed his Bronze volunteering for DofE at the Oxford Sail Training Trust.
Ben's report was excellent saying, “Ben has worked hard, and spent an immense amount of time, maintaining our boats, including replacing ropes, repairing ropes, working on the spars to make them fit for purpose and maintaining the hulls. Ben has also repaired a sail sewing machine and used it to repair some of our sails. Ben has also designed and constructed a robust automatic race starting system, successfully used at the last National Schools two boat team racing. Universities and others are interested in using this system themselves. He often surveys the boats, finds what needs to be done, what needs to be ordered and then makes sure that it is all done. He has become indispensable to the sailing club.”
