Eight Lower Sixth students completed their DofE Gold canoeing training and practice expedition over four days at the start of the Easter Holiday.

Day one at Dorchester Lake focused on paddling skills and capsize and rescue training. Days two and three took them along the Kennet and Avon Canal, including the picturesque Dundas Aqueduct and learning to portage locks. They finished on day four paddling on the Oxford Canal.

Despite frosty mornings, the weather was clear, and the team showed great teamwork and determination throughout. They are now fully prepared for their assessment expedition on the River Wye in July.
