Filmed during the first half of the summer term, Diary of a Drama is this year’s Lower School production which documents some of what’s been happening over the last year.
Part diary, part anthology, it tells the story of drama teacher Nigel Nixon’s attempts to put on a school play in a pandemic. With some original material created by the cast, and scenes by Salman Rushdie, Jewell Parker Rhodes, Robin Stevens, Michael Rosen and Graham Greene, the film features a cast of 26 lower school actors alongside professional actor (and OA) Alex Mugnaioni (last seen as Paris in the National Theatre’s filmed version of Romeo and Juliet), and there are even cameos by those stars of the drama department, Ben Phillips and Joe McDonnell.
The film will be streamed this week on Thursday 10 and Friday 11 June at 7pm. There is no charge to watch the film, but you will need to register in advance in order to receive a link.
