Each year a group of school children is invited to the House of Lords to play against their lordships. The day is organised by the English Bridge Union together with Ruth, Baroness Henig. This year it was the turn of our region. On Wednesday 19 July, Cameron Butcher and Scott Elkington joined representatives from Dr. Challoner's, Dragon, Highdown, Magdalen College School, Reading Grammar and Summer Fields at the House of Lords.

The children had a guided tour of the House of Lords, followed by a session of Duplicate bridge with their lordships and ended with afternoon tea on the terrace.

Cameron Butcher was partnered by Lord Harrison of Chester, Scott Elkington partnered Roger, Lord Skelmersdale. An enjoyable time was had by all.
