Today’s eco-thought of the day is focused on wildfires in Australia and more recently the UK.
More than 10 million hectares have been burnt in the Australian bushfires, and this number continues to climb. That’s the equivalent of 40% of the entire UK.
The Eco Committee is supporting and raising awareness for what the WWF are doing within Australia, where they are helping to restore homes for koalas and other wildlife.
Closer to home there have been devastating fires in the UK. A few weeks ago one wildfire destroyed over 500 acres of forest and rare species of wildlife in a Special Scientific Interest Site. 11 disposable BBQs were found in the area…
