From the Headmaster to all parents:

Dear Parents

Last weekend saw the return of fixtures as we enjoyed cricket matches at all age groups against Berkhamsted. This was a welcome sign that we are on the pathway towards normality and the 1st XI enjoyed a thrilling return to action, a fantastic century from Liam Hilditch getting them over the line to victory deep into the evening.

We now have a Bank Holiday weekend to look forward to. Just a gentle reminder that a Covid test should form part of that weekend. You can see above a letter from Oxford County Council explaining why the testing programme is an important part of the battle against Covid.

Best wishes, Mike Windsor

Leavers’ Festival of Sport, Sunday 23 May – from Pete Bignell, Director of Sport & PE

I am very aware that has been a difficult year for the Upper sixth students on the sporting playing fields.  So, as a Sports Department, we are running a ‘Leavers’ Festival of Sport‘ on Sunday 23 May where the Upper sixth can for one last time play Rugby, Hockey and Football in front of their peers with a large celebratory BBQ thrown in as well.

We have chosen these three sports based on the numbers of the 6th Form that choose these as their core sport & regularly represent the school at the weekend whilst also appreciating that Cricket and Rowing will have competitive seasons this year.  Ultimately the focus is on providing an inclusive opportunity to play competitive sport in a fun relaxed environment with their peers.

As long as the expected Stage 3 Government Guidance is announced on the Monday 17 May we will be allowing parents and family members to spectate which will hopefully add to the occasion.

School Policies

Parents are reminded that School Policies are available under the “About” & then “School Policies” menu of the website.  They are reviewed and updated from time to time.

Family Quiz –  Friday 21 May at 7pm via Zoom

ASPA and the Charity Committee (one of the Other Half activities at school) will be running a joint online quiz at 7pm on Friday 21 May (aiming to finish by 8.30pm to make it truly family friendly!)
