WEEKLY MAILING

Message from the Head

Dear Parents

There are two senior drama productions, run jointly with SHSK, to savour over the next fortnight. This week A Monster Calls is playing in the Amey Theatre (final performance on Friday 26 January) while from Wednesday 31 January until Friday 2 February you’ll be able to see Made in Dagenham at SHSK. I’ve heard great things about both productions and I hope many of you will be able to come and support them. You can find ticket information here.

I’m also looking forward to slipping on my dancing shoes for the ceilidh organised by ASPA in the Pavilion to mark Burns Night on Saturday 27 January. My grandmother was from Scotland and I will be playing on my Scottish connections to the full as we address the haggis in the immortal words of Rabbie Burns: ‘Great Chieftain o’ the Puddin’-Race!’ My thanks go to Harriet Alderman for the considerable energy and drive that she has put into the organisation of this event for parents to enjoy.

Best wishes, Mike Windsor

  • Parents of 4th year – Upper Sixth pupils – Exam access arrangements
  • Parents of 5th year Pupils – Save the Date – Sixth Form Induction Day:
    • As was mentioned in the parents’ evening webinar recently, on Wednesday 26 June we will be running a Sixth Form induction day. The aim of this will be to help begin the process of bridging the gap between GCSE and A-Level study. We have chosen this day as it is the GCSE exam contingency date so in principle candidates should hold this date in reserve. Clearly in the event that an exam needs to be rearranged, that will take precedence. We hope that as many pupils as possible will be able to attend, however if holiday plans have already been made you shouldn’t worry about rearranging them. Further details will follow in due course.
