Examinations this tern
The only set of exams for any year group this term is the lower sixth tests which will take place during lessons in the week beginning 17 November. We take the boys' performance in the Tests seriously (as we hope they do!) and reserve the right to recall any boys who we feel have under-performed for resit exams on the day before the Lent Term begins. By the time of the tests the boys will be more than a third of the way through their AS courses and the results they achieve in November are useful early indicators of their likely grades in the summer.
School Uniform
School uniform and sports kit is available from Stevensons' Schoolwear Oxford either at their shop in Summertown (245 Banbury Road, Oxford, OX2 7HN; 01865 554559) or online. Items of uniform purchased online may either be delivered directly to you with a small postage charge or delivered for you or your son to collect free of charge from Faringdon Lodge (01235 849118) during office hours.
Abingdon Michaelmas Fair: Monday 6 and Tuesday 7 October and Abingdon Runaway Fair: Monday 13 October
Parents should expect that traffic flow in Abingdon will be severly disrupted by the Abingdon Fairs. On Monday 6 and Tuesday 7 October vehicle entry to Park Road and Park Crescent will only be via the gate on Faringdon Road (along from the Coach Park).
Joint Choral Society (Adults)
This year's Joint Choral Society concert will take place on Sunday 30 November 7.00pm, at the YPH, St. Helen's School. The programme will be Handel's 'The Messiah'. JCS will be conducted this term by Lisa McAdam, Assistant Director of Music at St. Helen's School. Rehearsals for adults are taking place on Monday evenings, 7.00 – 8.30pm, at the YPH, at 7pm. We look forward to welcoming parents to sing alongside pupils and staff members. Please spread the word amongst your singer friends – as always, new members will always be welcome.
Food Menu for the coming week
At School Council's request I am including an item about next week's food menu. Next week will be week 1 of the menus.
