WEEKLY MAILING

This week's mailing is:

Letters:

  • To all parents of Lower Sixth boys studying Physics – Trip to Geneva

Notices:

Music Notices
  • Lower School Gala concert – Wednesday 21 June at 6pm.  Everyone is most welcome to come to our concert featuring the entire Lower School in a massed choir, singing the famous Beatles Songs, Hey Jude and Let it Be. There will be lots of solos and ensembles, too, enabling us to celebrate the exciting talent that we have in the lower part of the school.  A reminder to parents that the boys will be given only light refreshment before the concert and so will need feeding when they get home! We start at 6pm and should be finished by 7.30pm. Admission free.
  • A Summer Evening of Light Music – Friday 30 June at 7pm.  Come and hear our bands, orchestras and choirs one final time this year. The repertoire is distinctly light in nature, definitely more Second Programme than Third, with the emphasis on song, show and film arrangements, more that symphonies and concertos.  We hope to recognise our Leavers and celebrate the coming of summer.  Please apply for tickets in good time, following this link.
Henley Royal Regatta – Friday 30 June 2017

Parents are invited to join the OA Club for strawberries and Pimm's at the Friends of Abingdon School Boat Club tent in Henley Cricket Club car park during the afternoon tea break (usually between 4.00 pm and 5.00 pm). No RSVP required.

NT Live: Salomé – Thursday 22 June at 7pm in the Amey Theatre

The story has been told before, but never like this. An occupied desert nation. A radical from the wilderness on hunger strike. A girl whose mysterious dance will change the course of the world. This charged retelling turns the infamous biblical tale on its head, placing the girl we call Salomé at the centre of a revolution.  Internationally acclaimed theatre director Yaël Farber (Les Blancs) draws on multiple accounts to create her urgent, hypnotic production which will be broadcast live from the stage of the National Theatre. 'Epic. A near-perfect production.' Guardian (on Les Blancs )
