Parents of all Prize Winners and U6 Leavers are invited to Prize Giving on Saturday 25 June. Please see the letter attached for full information. If you wish to attend Prize Giving and have not already replied, please click on this link to reserve a place.

Data Check Form Reminder 

Data Check forms have been sent to all year groups apart from the Upper Sixth. Please return the forms as soon as possible. If you need another copy of the documents please contact [email protected].

For L6 parents: UCAS 2 on Friday 1 July at 5.30pm

A reminder that UCAS2 takes place on Friday 1 July starting at 5.30pm (not 5pm as stated on the printed calendar). UCAS2 is an opportunity for boys and parents to discuss university plans with tutors and subject specialists with whom boys will be instructed to make appointments. Also available will be some recent OAs who will be able to give first-hand experience of courses and university life. Boys can also make appointments for specific advice about the UCAS application system, Oxbridge, veterinary and medical applications, and US and international applications. The evening is expected to end by 9.30pm. Attendance is not compulsory.

Parents of 4th year boys:  Tougher Minds:  Thursday 30 June, 6pm, Amey Theatre

You are invited to attend an important event, which will introduce the Tougher Minds programme to help you to support your child at home. Tougher Minds Personal Change Management training improves health, happiness and educational performance. It won Education Initiative of the Year at the 2014 Independent School Association awards and its performance resources have featured in The Daily Telegraph. The programme supports pupils, teachers and parents. Tougher Minds also work in business and professional sport. This introduction event will introduce the brain, the powerful role of daily habits and insights into how better sleep, diet and exercise, which reduces stress and improves learning, can be developed. The event details are: Thursday 30 June 2016 start: 6pm finish by 7pm in the Amey Theatre.  The opportunity for us to offer this only arose recently, so apologies for the short notice.

Oxfordshire Science Festival Thursday 23 June to Sunday 3 July

This year’s Oxfordshire Science Festival runs from Thursday 23 June to Sunday 3 July and includes a range of events in and around Oxford. Details about the festival, including ticket bookings can be found at http://www.oxscifest.org/. The festival culminates with ATOM, a celebration of Science and Technology in Abingdon-on-Thames and this includes a number of events in the Amey Theatre and the Yang Science Centre on Saturday 2 & Sunday 3 July 2016:

·      Hunting The Higgs: The Ministry of Sense, Sunday 3 July, 13:30, Amey Theatre, Abingdon

·      UK Science and Technology Policy: Nicola Blackwood in conversation with The Guardian, Sunday 3 July, 15:00,  Amey Theatre, Abingdon

·      Smashing Physics: News from the energy frontier, Sunday 3 July, 16:30, Amey Theatre, Abingdon

·      Born and Made: Sythentic Biology and creative writing, Sunday 3 July, 10:00-16:00, Science Partnership Lab, Yang Science Centre

Joint Bus Abingdon Update – May 2016

Route/Stop Changes:

  • The Bicester route is going to be extended to provide cover to Weston on the Green
  • Due to low passenger numbers the Kingsclere stop will be withdrawn and Wootton Hill will be added as a return service at 4.20pm and 5.20pm

Prices – A 2% increase to our existing fares will be applied from the start of the new academic year.
