The Music department is delighted to share this video clip of first year pupil, Mark Hanlon, playing Aílíe Robertson’s Home at the Hearth. Mark has been playing the harp for only six months – and this piece for a mere three weeks!

Mark is the third Abingdon pupil to have taken up the harp, thanks to the initiative and kind financial support of David Allen OA. Our aim is to have a harpist in each of the seven years of the school. So far we have years 1, 2 and 3.

Mark said “I found it difficult in the fact that if you play the piece really well for the 1st half and if you make a tiny error you have to restart the entire piece.”
