The U14 Rugby Sevens team demonstrated exceptional skill and determination at the 48th Queen Elizabeth’s School Barnet Rugby Sevens Tournament. Despite challenging weather conditions, they emerged as undefeated, clinching the Plate title in a captivating display of passion, commitment and teamwork.

Their journey to victory commenced with a commanding win against Haberdashers’ Elstree Schools, securing a convincing 19-7 triumph. Even when confronted with formidable opponents, they exhibited remarkable resilience, managing a draw against Harrow School with a hard-fought 21-21 scoreline. Harrow eventually went on to claim the pool and the Cup competition.

Undeterred by any obstacles, the team continued to showcase their dominance in subsequent matches. They delivered a masterful performance against Woodlands School, overwhelming them with an imposing 49-5 victory, and against Gresham’s School with a closely contested 12-7 win in the Plate Quarter Final.

Advancing to the tournament’s latter stages, the Abingdon team’s determination remained unwavering despite the challenging weather conditions. They displayed exceptional adaptability and perseverance, securing impressive victories against Seaford College with a score of 17-5 in the Plate Semi-Final and Berkhamsted School with a resilient 22-10 win in the Plate Final, ultimately clinching the coveted Plate title.
