An absolutely excellent day despite the windy conditions. This was the first competitive fixture that our 1st VIII have been able to have in over a year and it was lovely to see them on the court. They drew Eton in the first round, which was a tough start, before playing Epsom and King’s College School (KCS). The standard of tennis was very high and Abingdon came second overall. The scores were as follows:
Eton – 33 sets
Abingdon – 23 sets
Epsom – 11 sets
KCS – 5 sets
All the students played well, but special mention must go to Ben Morgan and Hayato Frellesvig, both are U14 players who played up into the 1st VIII for the first time.
