On Tuesday, the Music Department held their first Solo Platform of the term. Talented musicians across various year groups delivered a wonderful and ambitious programme, ranging from Bach to Gershwin, with Theo performing his own two waltzes, displaying not only some impressive playing, but also a talented composer in the making.
The courage required to perform solo so early in the school year was impressive, reflecting both the dedication of the performers and the vibrant energy of the music department. The concert was also good preparation for some of the students who needed to try out some of their pieces to record for GCSE, as well as scholars, who will be playing in the Holywell Room in a week and a half.
As usual, it was also impressive to see the camaraderie and support between the students, something the music students at Abingdon are known for.
