Last week, the music department had their second Solo Platform and Award Holder concert take place at St Michael’s Church. Featuring a wide range of instruments – from flute and cello to piano – and students ranging from Lower School to Upper Sixth, the concert was a true celebration of musical talent at Abingdon School.

The variety in the programme was matched only by the high standard of performance. Each student brought a high level of technical skill and musical sensitivity, particularly impressive was the confidence and maturity displayed by even the youngest performers, who held their own alongside more experienced Upper Sixth musicians.

The audience, a mix of supportive parents and members of the public, was clearly impressed by the professionalism of our pupils. It was another demonstration of Abingdon’s strong musical tradition and commitment to nurturing talent across all age groups.
