It was a great honour for Abingdon School to welcome Sir Vince Cable to talk about his book ‘Money and Power’. This was the first time he had spoken about the book to a school audience and the students responded well with insightful questions. The students were highly engaged with the former Liberal Democrat leader and Coalition Cabinet Minister. Over 150 staff and students were present and the talk was followed by a book signing. In addition Abingdon School welcomed students from the local community of neighbouring schools. The Economics department at Abingdon hopes to be able to welcome a wide range of alternative speakers.
