Fifty Fifth Year students completed their Silver Duke of Edinburgh’s Award Practice Expedition in Edale at the end of September. Highlights over the course of their three day routes circumnavigating the Edale skyline included: Brown Knoll, Mam Tor and Crowden Tower, plus Stanage Edge. The weather was unseasonably cold and, on the final day, very wet. All eight groups showed determination, perseverance and a sense of humour in completing their expedition. The challenges presented provided excellent training for the qualifying expedition in the Brecon Beacons in June.
