On Monday all sixteen of the third year academic scholars went on a trip to Bletchley Park, the site which played a crucial role in deciphering German messages during the Second World War. The scholars had time to browse the museum and Mansion House, alongside exploring ‘Hut 8’, the location where Alan Turing, himself, worked to crack the ‘Enigma’ code. This was followed by a fascinating guided tour of the grounds, and a workshop which involved decoding morse code messages of the D-Day Landings in 1944.
