The fifth year academic scholars had a trip to Oxford on Tuesday, including a tour of St Hilda’s College from OA Harry Walsh, a tour of the Bodleian Library, and an afternoon of talks and activities at Wytham Woods. From exploring the 15th century beginnings of the Bodleian, to estimating how many hectares of woodland it would take to offset a flight to North America, the students enjoyed the diversity of the day. As seen in the accompanying pictures, trying to measure the height of a tree with nothing but a piece of rope and compass was a particular highlight – challenging and good fun in equal measure.
