As the Thames Valley was out of action the Boat Club ventured north for a weekend on the Tyne. Very mild weather for this time of year meant we had glorious conditions to race Rutherford Head on the Saturday with a training session on Sunday.
Great performances by the rowers saw us take on crews from across the north east including Newcastle, Durham and Edinburgh universities as well as taking home wins in the J18 eight, quad and coxed four events.
A big thank you to Tyne Rowing Club for putting on a great event on the Saturday and to Newcastle University for hosting us across the weekend. A thoroughly enjoyable trip had by all and we look forward to coming back next year.
