Last weekend, the Rugby Club played against Marlborough College in the annual block fixture, in which nearly 500 pupils from both schools participated. The event witnessed some exceptional performances, particularly from our 1st XV, who have been incredible ambassadors throughout the season. Their highly spirited team performance on Waste Court marked the final time that the Upper Sixth pupils played at home.
This week also sees the start of the Rugby Club’s end-of-season Rugby Awards events, starting with the Lower School Rugby Awards evening, followed by the Senior Rugby end-of-season black-tie dinner. Next Monday, we will have our Middle School Rugby Awards event, which will mark the end of the season. The Rugby Club squad photos are also scheduled for the same day. This all sets the stage nicely for the final block fixture of the season against Bedford School, scheduled for the upcoming weekend.
We hope that this season has inspired and encouraged our pupils to continue their passion for rugby and strive for excellence both on and off the field. Congratulations to all who have contributed to the success of this season – we look forward to seeing what the future holds for the Abingdon School Rugby Club.
