The Rugby Season came to an end last weekend with fixtures against Bedford School. Unfortunately, all away fixtures were cancelled due to waterlogged pitches. However, home matches took place, with the U14 A-D matches taking place at Cox’s Field and the U16 A & B XVs as well as the 1st XV playing on-site.
The 1st XV played a closely contested match but, unfortunately, they lost out in an entertaining match and competitive performance. The U16 A & B XVs both emerged victorious, displaying impressive performances. This meant that both sides achieved an undefeated record, making the 2023 season one to remember for these teams. The U14s also played some excellent matches at Cox’s, displaying some outstanding performances and completing a memorable season for all involved.
Over the past week, three Rugby Awards events were held. The first was the Lower School Awards, which took place last Thursday. The annual Senior Rugby black-tie dinner was held on Saturday, where players, coaches, and staff members came together to celebrate and honour the achievements of the senior rugby team. Lastly, the Middle School Awards took place on Monday, where the teams and top performers of the season were acknowledged for their hard work and dedication to the sport.
