Third years in Border’s house enjoyed their final online Bake Off with a recipe for an indulgent treat – rocky road. It was new for lots of us and we had fun discussing the recipe – should we use a Bain Marie or a pan? Will the chocolate burn? And what ingredients we were going to put in – we had everything from popcorn to walnuts to cherries to Maltesers.
The results were really delicious and the students’ families were very impressed.

That brings our Bake Offs to a close. We have all learnt to bake a Victoria Sponge, tossed pancakes – Sam Siriwardene managed 15 flips in one go – and can now produce a patisserie-worthy Rocky Road. It’s been fun.
