As part of the national campaign to ring as many church bells around the country as possible at 6.30pm on 8 May to commemorate the 80th anniversary of VE Day, two members of the school bellringing club joined local ringers from the town to ring the bells of St Nicolas’ Church. At the same time the school bell was chimed 80 times by a member of staff.
