The top 32 Abingdon tennis players met at Radley on Saturday to contest the annual Radlingdon match. A classic derby that is always hotly contested and usually has a few surprises. The most notable one this year was the Abingdon third pair coming up against the Abingdon 1st pair in the quarter finals and beating them! Abingdon third pair, Archie Kind and Monty Bowles, then won their semi-finals match only to be beaten by a strong Radley pair in the final match. Abingdon also had some strong players in the plate match. Hayato Frellesvig and Ben Morgan, the Abingdon fifth pair, were forced into the plate after meeting the Radley first pair in round 1. They proceeded after that in a dominant style, eventually winning the plate.
Well done to all players involved and a big thanks to Mr Evans and Mr Richardson who staffed the fixture and to Radley for hosting this excellent tournament.
