Agape, our partner charity in Moldova, has recently used some of the funds raised by the Sixth Formers who visited this summer to buy school books for Moldovan pupils for the new academic year. A selection of reading books has been bought for Grigore Vieru High School in Ialoveni and a further 350 textbooks for teaching Romanian have been delivered to three schools in Ialoveni and in the nearby villages of Molesti, Suruceni, Ulmu and Zimbreni. In addition, some old-style Abingdon sports kit donated by SUS that the group of sixth formers delivered to Agape has now been distributed to various sports groups in and around Ialoveni, including a football team that then went on to win a local tournament.
