Congratulations to the U14 Cello Trio, who have won through to the Finals Concert of the Pro Corda National Chamber Music Festival to be held in in Brighton on Sunday 12 March. In the Semi-Final round of the competition held on Monday 27 February, the trio played the Allegro from a Divertimento for three cellos by Francesco Ticciati (1893 – 1949).
The three cellists, Kayden, Angus and Harrison are all pupils in the Third Year. In gaining this success the musicians beat off stiff competition from fine ensembles around the UK. Whilst congratulating the pupils on this achievement, the Director of Music, Michael Stinton, said that the success reflects their hard work, the fine teaching and the high standards of musical performance in the school.
