Children from Marcham, St Swithun’s and Caldecott Primary Schools participated in a pond dipping session as part of the Primary Science Club provision this term. They enjoyed sweeping the pond and its well established plants with nets and then placing their finds carefully into sample trays. Having found a good assortment of snails, leeches, water boatmen, caddis, damsel fly larvae and even a small frog (!), they selected a few specimens to inspect more closely under microscopes in the lab.
