Pictured here are six first year pupils who came for a harp taster session on Wednesday afternoon with the school’s harp teacher, Jenny Hill. The boys learned about the difference between the lever harp and the pedal harp and how to get the many wonderful sounds that the harp can produce – arpeggios, harmonics and glissandi. At the end of the 30 minute session the boys each had an opportunity to try the harp and to hear a demonstration from Miss Hill, something they really enjoyed. We are enormously grateful to David Allen OA and his wife Shelagh, who continue to support the school, enabling us to fund the harp programme – which was entirely David’s initiative.
