Going on the Pitt Rivers trip was an experience I will not forget. The mere setting of the place entraps you immediately. Hidden at the back of the Natural History Museum, the museum holds three floors with countless artefacts and information about objects, cultures and history. I can say that Pitt Rivers holds one of the largest collections of human history in the UK, and in the darkened setting, you really do feel like you are in the Victorian era, just when the museum opened. For Art GCSE, the Pitt Rivers Museum is perfect for many inspirations of decay of objects and especially human objects. I found the wide variety of objects such as carved tusks to shields and Moai statues incredibly diverse and interesting. For me, the similarities between cultures of the past and the magnitude of past empires and kingdoms opened up new pathways and inspirations. Overall, going on this trip was enlightening and inspiring for me, and for the rest of us as well.
