The British Physics Olympiad is a prestigious exam-based competition for the most able upper sixth physicists. Abingdon enjoyed outstanding success this year, with Ashwin Tennant and Will Taylor achieving the gold award. This put them among the top 100 students nationally out of about 1600 entrants, the top 6% of the very best, and earned them a place in Round 2, where a spot on the national Olympiad team is up for grabs. Six boys received the very impressive silver award and a further eight boys the bronze award and commendations. This is truly an exceptional achievement and demonstrates performance at a very high level.
