Yesterday 15 A-level physics students attended the Physics in Action lectures in London at the Emmanuel Centre. The lectures covered diverse topics such as optical imaging of the brain, particle accelerators, materials, the quantum world and thermometer accuracy. There were plenty of exciting demonstrations and plenty of audience engagement. The five speakers were leaders in their field and it was a great opportunity for the boys to think about possible work in the science and engineering fields. The bus journey was rife with vibrant discussion about the lectures and London itself. As an added bonus Mr Mason even managed to share his lunch with some Pelicans in St James's Park.
