We have been very pleased to welcome an Ogden Trust 'Teach Physics' Intern to the team at ASP for the second part of the Summer Term.
Gabriel Semple is in the third year of an integrated Master's course in Physics at the University of Portsmouth, where he is also a Student Outreach Ambassador and plays football for the university.
During his five week placement he has been making very valuable contributions to Partnership work, as well as designing and leading workshops of his own with pupils from local schools. He has also developed new ideas for future workshops in collaboration with our own staff and researchers from Oxford University's Physics Department.
Gabriel has been a particularly inspiring role model for pupils from Fitzharrys School and St Edmund's Primary School, two of our key partners, as he is a local lad who went to both these schools himself. With one more year left at university, Gabriel is not yet sure about teaching as a future career, but he has certainly impressed everyone he has worked with so far and we have done our best to convince him!
