Shakespeare’s Much Ado About Nothing – A Joint Senior Production between St Helen and St Katharine and Abingdon School.
This refreshingly modern take on Shakespeare’s comedy, featured everything from contemporary dance and live music to motorised grannies. 21 hugely talented students from St Helen and St Katharine and Abingdon performed to sell out audiences over the three nights. The excellent acting and a masterful stage-management team (all under the brilliant direction of Jo Watt, Head of Drama at St Helen’s) garnered huge applause and raucous laughter.
The impressive production of Much Ado set the scene for an ambitious and exciting week for the drama departments at both schools, with two major productions from the senior students. Much Ado’s sell out success was followed by the young thespians, this time taking to the Abingdon School stage, for the three-night run of London Road – 2,3 and 4 February.
