Agape, our partner charity in Moldova, have been working very hard in recent weeks to offer aid and support to the tens of thousands of refugees who have been fleeing to Moldova from war-torn Ukraine. They have also been using some of the funds from last year’s charity walk to set up new projects in the communities that they work with. One of these projects has seen the recent distribution of two tons of apples that Agape had been able to buy thanks to Abingdon’s support. There were enough apples to give to over 1,800 children in four different schools for ten days and, in addition, teams of pupils from Grigore Vieru and Petre Stefanuca schools in Ialoveni created parcels of 2.7kg of apples and delivered them to over 230 elderly people in the community.
