About 100 Year 10 and 11 students from Abingdon, Fitzharrys, Our Lady’s Abingdon, John Mason and St Helen & St Katharine attended a ‘Foreign Languages and Careers’ event to explore how foreign languages can be used in different types of professions and industry sectors, and what studying foreign languages at A level is like, especially as compared to GCSE.

A panel of alumni from Abingdon and St Helen’s shared their varied personal stories of studying foreign languages at school and at university and how they use foreign languages in their current roles. We hope that the insights gained from attending the event will help students (who have a strong interest in foreign languages) to decide if they wish to continue such studies in the Sixth Form.
