Lower School pupils from Abingdon and St Helen's enjoyed a Joint Dinner Debate yesterday evening.
The motion “this house believes that technology is ruining the social skills of young people” was proposed by Abingdon and opposed by St Helen's. After several thought-provoking speeches and some useful points from the floor, the motion was narrowly defeated.
Over a curry dinner, preparations were made for a scratch balloon debate in which nine famous figures argued that they were the most significant and influential. In the final vote Barack Obama, Rosa Parks and Albert Einstein were beaten to first place by none other than Donald Trump!
