On Sunday the senior cross-country squad travelled the short distance to compete in the Longworth 10km, a mixed terrain race, which incorporates much of the Thames path and includes a testing hill in the final kilometre. As in previous years, the weather turned wet and wild to mark the start of the cross-country season. Alex Pennington raced from the front, before the pack eventually split late on in the race. Roy Schumacher and James Coode both ran maturely, pacing themselves to finish strongly and secure two top ten positions. A fantastic start to the season for all athletes involved.
