ASiP was proud to share a Lockdown Art Competition with students from across our partnership. We had many entries from Radley, Buckland and St Edmund’s schools and from students who depicted their thoughts and feelings about lockdown in a variety of ways. From paintings to sculptures, drawings to collage, the entries were of a high standard and really showed the diversity of experience lockdown created for our young people. Many pieces focussed on imagery of the virus, while others signified hope and a journey out of lockdown. The winners were selected by art staff at Abingdon and students received a certificate and art supplies vouchers from local stationers, Prices. One prizewinner got in touch to say he hadn’t expected to win but was ‘very proud and happy’. We look forward to running more competitions in the future where students are encouraged to be creative.
