In advance of study leave, it was a great privilege to celebrate the musical successes and journey of our Upper Sixth students in a Leavers’ Concert in the Amey Theatre. The first half featured a number of instrument solos, duets and piano performances before concluding with a nod to the popular provision of the department with a wonderful performance of his own song by Felix before Fab drove us into the interval with two energetic performances on bass and electric guitar. The second half continued to showcase the talents of our leavers before all musicians combined to support Jack in his performance of ‘Cry me a River’. The concert concluded with an ensemble composed of the Upper Sixth leavers numbering some 28 musicians in which an orchestra was formed to perform Libertango. In what has been an incredible cohort of musicians who have given such incredible leadership and musical expertise to the department, this was an evening of wonderful and collaborative music making.
