On Wednesday, the senior cross country team competed at the historic King Henry VIII Relays. The race is more than 50 years old and the fastest lap list contains the names of half a dozen Olympians. Abingdon traveled with the hope of improving on last year’s third place finish, but the opposition was going to be tough as schools travel from the corners of the UK for this high quality race. Quinn got the team off to a flier with the second fastest leg of the day and then it was a story of consistency from the rest of the team. The Judd School pulled ahead on the third leg despite a strong run from Harry and we then had an exciting battle with Woodbridge School. Eventually our strength in depth counted and Monty calmly brought us home 2nd.

Leg times:

Quinn 10.54
Ralph 12.24
Harry 12.54
Oli 12.23
Jacob 12.38
Monty 11.56
