The students who were recently selected for the GB U21 Canoe Polo Development squad made use of the dual projector facility in the Yang Science Centre today for video analysis of their forward paddling technique. The majority of strokes undertaken in kayaking involve a variant of the forward stroke and so being able to paddle efficiently here is essential. With a video camera streaming themselves live to one screen they were able to mimic the technique on the exemplar video and add marker points on the whiteboard for the positions their hands and body should hit at different parts of the stroke. The team looks forward to representing the school next weekend in the British Canoeing Southwest Regional League and then is heading back up to Liverpool the following weekend for their squad training.
